TEAR FLOWERS
inspired by Aspa Stassinopoulou’s, Untitled
Like an old photograph the memories
feel the moments
As if out of a mask, the spring spurts
from the tear duct
It waters the eyes, cools the cheeks, burns the throat
and is released from the fingers by rolling in my “being”
It flows smoothly, liberates and washes away the fears from the earth’s pore…
which give birth to tear flowers.
In this memory I shake your hand,
your image erases sacrifice to the
tear flowers, spell in pain
All that remains is to say “goodbye” and keep your scent
where I had your hands… in my heart.
