EMST FOR HEALTH
Art reveals, entertains, excites, activates our creativity, turns us into dreamers, fighters, or travelers. In the difficult period we are going through due to the Covid-19 pandemic, art can offer some relief, liberate us and, above all, unite us.
.
The Learning Department of the National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens (EMST), aspiring to honor health professionals for their valuable work and the tireless support they offer to the community, created the program “EMST for Health” aiming to assist in reducing through art the intensity and fatigue and open a window to dream and creative expression.
.
The health professionals who decided to participate in the program received in their e-mail a work of art from the EMST collection in the form of an electronic card. On their own time, they “conversed” with the work, were inspired, thought, felt, dreamt. Then they sent us their response in whatever form they wished: wrote their thoughts and feelings in a text, a story, a poem or even just a phrase, created their own paintings, constructions, photographs, videos or whatever else they wanted. By sending their response, each participant stated whether they wished to receive another card, thus continuing the creative conversation with contemporary art.
.
The program lasted from December 2020 to February 2021.
