Collaboration EMST & British Council

EMST

EMST participated in the intensive professional development programme Transforming Future Museums: International Museum Academy (IMA) launched by the British Council and supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. The goal of the programme was to bring radical change to the museum and heritage sector across Greece. It aimed to trigger sustainable cultural, social and economic development, and respond to the challenges and opportunities of a new era. As part of the programme, EMST hosted two five-day courses: Project Management from 12 to 16 October 2016 and Audience Development from 19 to 23 October 2016. The Academy was also realized in Thessaloniki in November. Courses were tailored for those already working in the cultural sector and were delivered by UK experts, supported by a mix of Greek and international museum professionals, who fed into every session with relevant case studies, shared their expert insight, offered one-to-one sessions and gave feedback when projects were presented.
Participants are part of the fast-growing international alumni network of the IMA, having the opportunity to share ideas, learn from each other and explore together innovative ideas and working methods.
