ΕΜΣΤ – ΚΕΤΗΕΑ Seminar

December 2022 – January 2023

The seminar held by the National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMΣT) in collaboration with KETHEA has been completed. The collaboration included 3 educational programs at ΕΜΣΤ for KETHEA employees who work in prevention, treatment and educational programs and services.

The first educational program entitled Co-wayfarers at EMΣT was designed with the aim of encouraging dialogue and cooperation between people of different generations or different cultural backgrounds, through their contact with contemporary art. It was based on two of the Museum’s artworks, Costas Tsoclis’ video installation “Wayfarer” and Carlos Motta’s installation “Graffiti cuts: Who owns the street”.

The second educational workshop on experiential storytelling and the creation of stop-motion animation was designed with the aim of utilizing experiences, feelings, desires, as well as the cultural background of the participants for the creation of a short narrative, which was then presented in the form of stop-motion animation which participants created themselves.

The third program entitled Narcissus Meets Pandora is a practice based on digital technologies and addresses critical issues for today’s society related to digital competences, social inclusion and education. It addresses the lack of young people’s ability to produce and analyze visual media content, as well as the lack of digital skills training by teachers and school curricula.

The seminar was designed by Marina Tsekou, ΕΜΣΤ Education Curator and Remos Armaos, Deputy Head of KETHEA’s Staff Education Department

It was realized by Marina Tsekou, ΕΜΣΤ Education Curator, Elisabeth Ioannides, ΕΜΣΤ Education Curator and Dimitris Kannas, Artist- Animateur ΕΜΣΤ
