The stable collaboration, since 2009, between EMΣT and the Photography Group of the Rehabilitation Center “18 Ano” continued this year.
From June 2022 until June 2023, the members of the Photography Group, already familiar with the Museum space, visit EMST and its exhibitions, discuss about them and draw inspiration from the artworks presented. At the same time, the older members help the younger ones in this journey of discovery of contemporary art that contributes to an understanding and deepening of personal reflections. They also seek the pleasure they derive from the aesthetic experience through visits to other exhibitions, to theatrical performances and generally though their contact with culture, which is a liberating experience during the routine of everyday life.
Michael Karikis’ temporary exhibition “Because We Are Together”, a theatrical performance based on “The Waste Land” by T.S. Eliot, a dilapidated cottage, personal experiences and memories from childhood were the source of inspiration for the creation of this year’s photo project entitled “We are together!”. While practicing photography, Nefeli and Aimilios embodied aesthetic experience and personal memories and reflections in a deep and revelating artistic project.
On Thursday 19.10.2023 at 19:00, the Education Department presented the photo project “We are together!. A discussion between the creators and the audience followed.
