John Baldessari, one of the most influential artists from the 60s and a pioneer of conceptual art, uses various mediums and artistic practices in order to pose questions around the production and perception of art. During the 70s he created a series of videos, in which he, sometimes in collaboration with others, appropriates, mixes and re-contextualizes images, sounds and texts from popular culture and art in a way that, through the humorous outcome, their hidden structure and mechanisms are revealed and demystified.
