On the occasion of International Day of Older Persons (October 1st) and World Mental Health Day (October 10th), the Education Department of EMΣT | National Museum of Contemporary Art, in collaboration with the 1st Boarding House of the Psychogeriatric Association “Nestor”, organized a two-day workshop titled “Weaving Memories”.

The participants, residents of the Boarding House, were presented a selection of artworks from the EMΣT collection through photographs. They discussed, engaged with, and expressed their personal interpretations on works dealing with memory, documentation, and weaving. Subsequently, they created their own tapestry of shared memories, which they recorded on ribbons and audio cassettes.

The outcome of this experiential, creative process is presented in the exhibition “Third Age Through the Eyes of the Third Age.” The exhibition is hosted from October 5th to 9th at the Events Hall of the 1st Boarding House (12 Ioannou Soutsou St., Gyzi), along with 12 additional visual artworks and 25 poems created by the residents.
