ΕΜΣΤ’s education department is pleased to announce a workshop, taking Penny Siopis’ retrospective exhibition, For Dear Life, as a starting point. The workshop aims to explore how images emerge and will deploy the mediums of photography and visual art.
In the work of Siopis, the method and the variety of art materials that the artist uses to create images, is characterized by multiplicity and also intent. The idea of the randomness in the appearance of an image, is not random after all. Through a creative process that will be carried out on three levels – stimuli resulting from the exhibition, photography and artistic rendition- the participants, utilizing materials and techniques similar to those used by the artist for her work, will have the opportunity to observe how images materialize.
