Art is a universal language of expression that brings together different groups in creative activities, helping to challenge stereotypes and foster social change.
The European programme #FriendsOfPandora (#FoP), with the participation of the EMΣT Education Department, seeks to cultivate the skills of carers who support people with intellectual disabilities in order to encourage them to explore the use of digital social media through non-formal learning practices and arts-based activities.
An online platform and a book of best practices will be created through #FoP, and shared with every interested educational community. In Athens, EMΣT collaborates with the “Margarita” Vocational Training Centre as a social partner.
During the programme, we support the representation and participation of people with intellectual disabilities in social media, raising the awareness of policy makers and the general public regarding inclusion and diversity in the social sphere.
#FoP is based on transnational cooperation, exchange of expertise and development of innovative practices in the fields of digital technology, artistic creation, social equality, and inclusion. The idea arose from a previous European project titled Narcissus Meets Pandora. It is supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme and has a two-year lifespan (2025-2027).
