Creation of an ephemeral collective work of art by young and old in Vovousa, Ioannina Prefecture.

ΕΜΣΤ | National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens is participating in the Vovousa Festival 2025 as part of its collaboration with regional organizations related to its mission.

It will implement the educational activity SKLI PLI GRN! designed by Xara Marantidou in collaboration with Eleni Koukou, focusing on animals, the forest, and the major international exhibition Why Look at Animals?A Case for the Rights of Non-Human Lives curated by Katerina Gregos. The aim of the creation of an ephemeral collective work in Vovousa, by young and old, is to broaden our perception of nature, focusing on our necessary coexistence with all its individual elements.

Vovousa Festival

For 10 years, Vovousa Festival – vovousafestival.gr – is dedicated to environmental protection, with events highlighting the comparative advantages of the Northern Pindos. Vovousa is a village of 35 inhabitants in the municipality of Zagori in the Prefecture of Ioannina. It is located at an altitude of 1,000 meters, within the Northern Pindos National Park, surrounded by high peaks and crossed by the Aoos River.
