A Case for the Rights of Non-Human Lives<\/em><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If a single thread can connect the widely resonant essays of the poet, novelist, and art critic John Berger (1926\u20132017) with the popular fictional universe of Zyrana Zateli, it is the distinct narrative approach they devised to describe all that surrounds us.<\/p>\n<p>The event takes place on the occasion of the first complete Greek translation of John Berger&#8217;s essay collection titled &#8220;Why Look at Animals?&#8221; (OKTANA Publications, March 2026) and Zyrana Zateli\u2019s autobiographical essay on her literary relationship with animals titled <em>We Will Be Judged by Their Eyes<\/em> (Published as part of the &#8220;\u0395\u039c\u03a3\u03a4 Minis&#8221; series, February 2026).<\/p>\n<p>Zyrana Zateli is an author and well-known animal lover. Antonis Balasopoulos is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Cyprus and the translator of Berger&#8217;s work.<\/p>\n<p>The event will last approximately one hour and will be held in Greek.
