Under the title <em>The Passing<\/em> the screening program at the Project Room consists of single channel videos in the EMST collection including: <em>The Passing<\/em>, 1991,\u00a0<em>Anthem<\/em>, 1983,\u00a0<em>Four Songs<\/em>, 1976,\u00a0<em>Chott el-Djerid\u00a0<\/em>(A Portrait in Light and Heat), 1979,\u00a0<em>The Reflecting Pool<\/em>, 1977-1980,\u00a0<em>Memory Surfaces and Mental Prayers<\/em>, 1977,\u00a0<em>Hatsu Yume\u00a0<\/em>(First Dream), 1981,\u00a0<em>I do not Know What it is I am Like<\/em>, 1986,\u00a0<em>Angel\u2019s Gate<\/em>, 1989.<\/p>\n<p>These works are single \u2013 channel videos dated from 1976 to 1991, a period when the pioneer artist was being established as a leading representative of video art. By using a purely visual language referencing an ecumenical spirituality, Bill Viola explores the large mysteries of life and death.<\/p>\n<p>The homage concurs with the celebration of the European Heritage Days, from 26 to 28 of September. This year the celebration is dedicated to &#8220;time&#8221;.<br \/>\nIn this framework, EMST presents an artist that faces time in his artworks like the artists of the 19th century faced light and color.
