Shortly before the closing of the Current Pasts project (curated by Daphne Vitali) at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens, Greek artist Vangelis Vlahos and Serbian artist Ivan Grubanov meet again on Thursday 21st of February at 19:30, to present their work and talk with the audience.\u00a0 Vangelis Vlahos (Athens, 1971) and Ivan Grubanov (Belgrade, 1976), often draw their material from recent sociopolitical and historical events. They retrieve, assemble and transform official historical records, shifting the center of the narrative in an attempt to offer relevant interpretations, but mainly to re-examine whether the collective memory of the past continues to influence and shape the way we perceive the present.<\/p>\n
