In the Alternative Stage of TEDxAthens on the 2nd of June 2018 the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens (EMST) will present the interactive art project Face Forward… into my home which begun in 2017 and was implemented by the Museum with the support of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and funded by the European Commission. Face Forward… into my home focuses on the stories of people who have been forced to leave their homelands and are rebuilding their life in Greece. Inspired by a selection of contemporary artworks from the Museum’s collection, the personal stories of 20 participants have been recorded. These stories, along with their respective photographic portraits by photographer Ioannis Vastardis, were presented at EMST in November 2017. Face Forward… into my home, in which 20 refugees and asylum-seekers who live in Athens supported by the ESTIA program participated, will continue in 2018 in other cities in Greece and abroad. After the presentation of the project, a conversation with participants and exhibition contributors will take place.
