About a year ago, in the summer of 2021, the members of the Photography Group of the Rehabilitation Center “18 Ano” visited EMST for the first time, in order to get to know the Museum and its Collection. Questions, reflections and particularly the desire to understand deeper the emotions that the contact with the artworks evoked, were the incentive for many more visits to the museum as well as discussions and analyses inside and outside the Museum.
In collaboration with the EMST Learning Department and in coordination with the Photographer – Therapist of “18 Ano”, the exploration of the museum and the persistent effort to discover symbolisms and meanings in the artworks continued and lasted for about nine months. Photographs, video recordings, and many hours of discussion have been the material for the creation of the video “Age of Majority”. Watching the video, one can understand that along with the learning process and the deeper understanding of contemporary art, an investigation of the emotions and thoughts took place that eventually led to a deeper self-awareness. This “sinking” into the museum and the self was considered by the members of the Photography Group to be a story of maturity.
EMST’s participation in the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, 2022 is realised in the framework of the EMST Without Borders program.
